Filmmaker Judd Apatow, actor John Hawkes (The Sessions), Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild), cinematographer Wally Pfister, and the superhero-packed blockbuster The Avengers have all been named as recipients of the 16th Hollywood Film Awards. The awards ceremony will take place on October 22, 2012 during the annual Hollywood Film Festival.

Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim Converting to 3D

I haven't tried to hide the fact I'm not a fan of 3D films in general, 3D conversions in particular. Now word comes via Variety that Guillermo del Toro will be converting Pacific Rim to the format for its theatrical release. Which presents the following conundrum: del Toro is a filmmaker I trust to deliver a quality product to audiences, but will he be given the freedom/financial backing to effectively convert his epic monsters versus robots tale, will it be worth the extra cost at the box office, and will it be worth wearing those annoying glasses for two hours?

Chad Johnson Charged With Battery For Evelyn Lozada Head-Butting

Chad Johnson has been formally charged with battery following his alleged attack on Evelyn Lozada last month. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.

The former Ochocinco was arrested for domestic violence in Florida after a fight over a condom receipt allegedly got violent and he head-butted his wife.

She filed for divorce days later after less than six weeks of marriage.

Broward County, Fla., officials made the decision to charge Chad today.

Evelyn Lozada claims their marriage had become "irretrievably broken" and has made it clear there will be no reconciling with the former NFL star here.

Chad apparently didn't get the memo, as he's refusing to sign divorce papers, insisting he's still in love with her and telling off his critics on Twitter.

He also got a tattoo of Ev's face on his leg. Her face.

Johnson was also dropped from the Miami Dolphins - on HBO's Hard Knocks no less - following his arrest and is now a free agent. Any NFL takers out there? Hello?

Macaulay Culkin: Depressed, Sad and Lonely?

Macaulay Culkin may not be on drugs, but he is not doing so hot. A friend describes him as depressed, sad, lonely and attempting to recapture his childhood.

Weeks after the National Enquirer called Macaulay Culkin a heroin addict and said he was at death's door, reports say the Home Alone star is very depressed.

An insider close to Culkin says he is not doing well and has been attempting to relive his childhood and has been engaging in increasingly strange behavior.

That includes hosting costume parties where guests are invited to come dressed as a movie character or dinosaur. "He likes to live as a child," says the source.

"Growing up has not been good to Macaulay."

A former colleague says Culkin is a "sad and lonely figure," and attributes his depression to his inability to land roles in recent years; he last acted in 2010.

The actor denies he's on drugs, but the Enquirer stood by its initial shocking story and encouraged the 32-year-old actor to seek help for his problems.

In February, his reps also denied allegations that the actor was gravely ill after gaunt photos of Culkin emerged. He looks healthier in recent months, though.

In fact, Culkin has been working on several paintings which he'll be exhibiting this week, and has been using his New York apartment as a studio. So that's good.

Here's hoping these are just rumors and that Mac is back and better than ever.

Heidi Klum Denies Affair, Admits to Martin Kristen Relationship

So much for Seal being a dirty, rotten liar: Heidi Klum really is fornicating with the help!

Approximately seven months after the couple split, and two weeks after the singer told the public that Klum was having an affair with bodyguard Martin Kristen, the model appeared on Katie today and admitted as much!

Almost.

Klum told the talk show host that she "never looked at another man" while married and insisted that she did NOT cheat on Seal.

But she did acknowledge a newfound connection with Kristen, saying she is "seeing" the man paid to keep her safe and adding: "I don't know if I can call it [a relationship]. It just started. I don't know."

Heidi also said she still spends time with Seal - the pair has four kids together - and that their relationship is a work in progress.

Following this admission, it may be closer to a work in regress.

The recent Chris Brown tattoo hullabaloo has sparked controversy and a bunch of hilarious memes, but hasn't been addressed by the singer himself.

Until now.

Despite online chatter that the tat resemvles a bruised, beaten Rihanna, if you ask Chris, this permanent new marking is nothing more than art:

Jessica Simpson Diet Tips: A Day in the Life

Jessica Simpson is just 10 pounds shy of her goal weight.

Getting withing striking distance has been far from easy.

Four months after she welcomed daughter Maxwell, Jessica Simpson's post-baby body is looking curvaceous and gorgeous. But she says there's work to be done.

What kind of work? Here's a day in the life of Maxi's mom:

7 a.m. Wakes to feed Maxwell, then eats half a Flatout flatbread sandwich with egg whites, peppers and fat-free cheddar (6 Weight Watchers PointsPlus).

8 a.m. Straps on her pedometer (above) and hits the streets with fiance Eric Johnson and Maxwell. "I'm trying to do at least 14,000 steps a day," she says.

She can't run yet because her boobs are too big, she says. Maybe someday.

Afterward: a snack of berries, bananas, melon or grapefruit (0 PointsPlus).

11 a.m. Four days a week, Jess reports to trainer Harley Pasternak for a 45-minute session. After a cardio warm-up, it's time for lifting, curls and crunches.

If it's Wednesday, she weighs in at home with her mom and pals.

1 p.m. "I make lunch my biggest meal to keep me full through the day," she says. One favorite: spinach salad with chicken satay and pear (8 PointsPlus).

2 p.m. Stroller walk with Maxwell, or hoofing it at home on the treadmill.

6:30 p.m. Bathtime and bed for Maxwell, then dinner for Jessica.

Matt Lauer on Al Roker Shenanigans, Today Show Ratings: No Worries!

Matt Lauer may have signed an 11-figure deal to remain lead anchor on The Today Show earlier this summer, but it's been anything but smooth sailing for the reporter since.

Many blame Lauer for the Ann Curry mess. The program is now regular destroyed by Good Morning America in the ratings. Al Roker appears to be poking fun at his coworkers on a regular basis.

And, yesterday, Today chose to air an interview with Kris Jenner instead of observing a 9/11-based moment of silence.

Where is Lauer's head these days as a result of such developments?

He tells TMZ that there's no beef with Roker and, sure, there's pressure for the show to succeed. But no more than usual

"We feel the heat every day," Lauer says. "But we have for the last 20 years that I've been there. We're just trying to do the best show we can do every single day ... and I think we're doing a good job right now ... and I think the cycle will reverse."
