Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained gave Kerry Washington the opportunity to reunite with Jamie Foxx (Ray), and this time around he was a much better onscreen husband than in their first outing together. Discussing Foxx during our interview, Washington said that in Django Unchained he goes into the depths of hell to rescue her character. "He goes to the ends of the world. He totally gets a do-over in this movie. He's a much better husband," said Washington, smiling. "Also, there was a strange, wonderful irony for me with the film being about two people being reunited as husband and wife, and Jamie and I are being reunited cinematically as husband and wife."
Washington, the star of TV's Scandal, also talked about delivering Tarantino's dialogue, singing a German lullaby in the film, and her character: Kerry Washington Django Unchained interview
